Luhut optimistic Indonesia's economy improves in 2016

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security, Luhut Binsar Panjaitan, was optimistic Indonesia's economy would improve in second quarter of 2016. It was because he has data that showed some economic sectors increased significantly.

Luhut said, there was a rise in the graph in some economic sectors, such as motor and cement industry. He revealed, cement production was going well and the demand increased significantly.

"The demand for cement has returned to be normal. The purchase of a motorcycle and steel production also increased," said Luhut, in his office, Monday (30/11).

The increase was also supported by property industry which the sales had improved. Luhut said, he met the Association of Real Estate of Indonesia to discuss the sales improvement.

In order to support the economic recovery, President Jokowi, he added, also has formed liaison ministers. The president appointed ministers whose task is to communicate directly to the countries that invested heavily in Indonesia.

"There are ministers appointed in order to accelerate the dissemination of our economic packages, so that they can invest in our country," Luhut explained.
