Jokowi holds special meeting with Vietnamese Prime Minister

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, KUALA LUMPUR -- The Government of Indonesia and Vietnam held a bilateral meeting to enhance cooperation between the two countries on the sidelines of ASEAN Summit in Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) Malaysia, Sunday (22/11). President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and Prime Minister of Vietnam, Nguyen Tan Dung, held a meeting at around 08:30 am local time.

"We are glad to be reunited, I really appreciate the cooperation between Indonesia and Vietnam," said President Jokowi, Sunday (22/11).

President Jokowi was accompanied by Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Darmin Nasution, Coordinating Minister for Legal and Security Affairs Luhut Panjaitan, Coordinating Minister of Maritime Affairs and Resource Rizal Ramli, Trade Minister Thomas T Lembong, Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi, and Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung.

In addition to bilateral meeting, President Jokowi was also scheduled to attend a meeting of 40th ASEAN-New Zealand cooperation in KLCC at 09:00 am local time. The President was also scheduled to have a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister of Japan at around 10:00 am local time.

He would also attend the signing of ASEAN Community Stabilization Declaration 2015 and Declaration of Kuala Lumpur for ASEAN 2025. Other meetings were the joint statement of regional economic cooperation and closing ceremony of the 27th ASEAN Summit.
