REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Rachmat Gobel officially enrolled as a candidate for chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) Indonesia for period 2015-2020 . The former minister of trade became the first applicant.

"I came to commit and to participate in the General Assembly of Chamber of Commerce and Industry, with all documents that I have prepared," said Rachmat, in Kadin Tower, Jakarta, Monday (16/11).

Rachmat handed a stack of files for his candidacy to Chairman of Kadin Indonesia, Suryo Bambang Sulisto. With the submission of the file, Rachmat was officially competing in 7th National Council of Chamber of Commerce and Industry held at 22nd to 24th November 2015 in Bandung.

Rachmat said, his desire to run for chairman was for the benefit of Kadin. The Panasonic owner stated that his goal was to unite and to make Kadin as a respected partner of the government and also to make a strong and innovative national businesses in facing global competition.
