REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MATARAM -- Lombok International Airport was finally reopened, Thursday (11/11) at 08.00 am, after being closed for more than a week.
"Informing that Lombok International Airport on Thursday at 08:00 am has been reopened," said Public Relations of PT Angkasa Pura I of Lombok International Airport, I Gede Sandi, Thursday (12/11).
According to him, the airport was re-opened based on the results of the joint meeting of BMKG, AirNav, AP I and airlines. It also obtained data from VAAC and Himawari weather imagery satellite.
Previously, since the closing of Lombok International Airport six days ago due to the eruption of Mount Barujari, there were no activities at the airport. The airport could be reopened depending on the condition of Mount Barujari eruption and wind direction.
Head of Sales Department of PT AP I of Lombok International Airport, Djon Heri, said the business turnover an the airport had stopped due to the closing of the airport. A number of traders inside and outside the airport was forced to close.
