REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, PALEMBANG -- National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) stated that on Saturday (30/10), there were 69 hotspots detected in South Sumatra.
"Based on recent observation from satellite at 04:00 am, we detected 69 hotspots in South Sumatra," said Head of Data Information and Public Relations of BNPB, Sutopo Purwo Nugroho, in Jakarta, on Saturday (30/10).
He explained that the hotspots were found one spot in Lahat, one spot in North Musi Rawas, two spots in Musi Rawas, three spots in South Ogan Komering Ulu, three spots in Muara Enim, three spots in Banyuasin, ten spots in Musi Banyuasin, 46 spots in Ogan Komering Ilir.
Meanwhile, he added, BNPB had been seeding salts in the air of Banyuasin and Palembang. The weight of seedling material was 800 kilograms.
"Socialization continues to be done in areas that are vulnerable to land and forest fires," he explained.
Based on prediction of Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysic Agency (BMKG), on 26th to 31st October 2015, intensity of the rains and the clouds began to increase in Sumatra and Kalimantan.
