Anti-graft agency quastions former Labor Minister as witness in corruption case

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Former Labor Minister Abdul Muhaimin Iskandar came to the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) on Wednesday to testify in a corruption case.

"I am invited as a witness for Jamal (Jamaluddien Malik). He was director general when I was a minister," Muhaimin said when he was arrived at KPK here on Wednesday.

Jamaluddien, former director general of transmigration was already in KPK detention since early last month.

He was named suspect in February, 2015 on charge of embezzling transmigration fund in 2013-20145.

He is facing a maximum jail term of 20 years with a fine of Rp1 billion if found guilty.

Muhaimin, who was summon as a witness in the corruption case, said he knew nothing about the case.

"I don't know," he said curtly when asked by reporters.

He was summon to give his testimony last week but he claimed he was sick.
