REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Design of Indonesian Rupiah was able to bring pride. Money with denomination of Rp 100 thousand, evidently won an award for Most Beautifully Design Around The World, or one of the best currencies' design in the world.

This award was achieved in April 2015. From nine countries who were nominated, Indonesia managed to reach the 4th position after China, Hong Kong, and Nepal.

"We have to love Rupiah, because the denomination Rp 100 thousand published in 2014 was awarded as one of the best design," said Head of Communications of Corporate General Printing Money of Republic of Indonesia (Peruri), Siwi Widjayanti, Thursday (22/10).

Siwi explained, this award was given by Times Magazine around April 2015. However, Times magazine did do not mention fundamental reason for the assessment of the design.

According to Siwi, if we looked at the design of Rp 100 thousand, there was a fairly large difference in the writing that showed that Rupiah was belonged to Indonesia.

"We can see the words 'the Republic of Indonesia', and the background color of yellow as in the image of Garuda. The first printing was not like this," Siwi added.
