Forest conditions of the location of marijuana were covered with shrubs and still inhabited by venomous animals. However, North Sumatra Police had not been able to explain the ownership or parties who were responsible for the existence of the marijuana fields.

Previously, soldiers of Korem 02/Ocean Guard had also been discovered marijuana fields covering an area of ​​32 hectares in hilly area of ​​East Panyabungan, Mandailing Natal, in May 2015.
