REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Indonesian Disaster Victim Identification (DVI) team of police had arrived at King Abdul Aziz International Airport Jeddah at 15:15 local time. The team was greeted by Deputy Ambassador of Indonesia in Riyadh Sunarko, Consul General of Indonesia in Jeddah Dhamakitri Syaelendra and Saudi Arabian Ministry of Health protocol.
"Indonesia is the first foreign team to be given opportunity to help process of identifying the bodies of Mina incident," said Deputy Ambassador of Indonesia in Riyadh, Sunarko, in a press release received by Republika.co.id, Sunday (4/10).
From the airport, Indonesian DVI team went to the Consulate to get a briefing. After that, they would spend the night at Royal House Jeddah and would be picked up by the team of Ministry of Health of Saudi Arabia to begin the process of identifying the bodies in a hospital.
"After completing the task in Jeddah, the team will continue to identify in a number of locations around Mecca," said Consul General of Indonesia in Jeddah, Dhamakitri Syaelendra.
Dhamakitri conveyed that he had also asked the Citizens Protection Team to continue giving protection to the DVI team during the identification process, which had been permitted by Ministry of Health of Saudi Arabia.
