REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MAKASSAR -- Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) and National SAR Agency (Basarnas) of South Sulawesi has conducted meeting and coordination with officials of Sultan Hasanuddin Airport in Makassar.
Head of BPBD of South Sulawesi, Syamsibar, said that Basarnas will lead the search team to look for Aviastar aircraft Masamba-Makassar route who have lost contact. Until now, the aircraft has not made a landing at Sultan Hasanuddin Airport.
"Basarnas is ready to search the missing aircraft. All will be handled by Basarnas," said Syamsibar, Friday (2/10).
According Syamsibar, the aircraft was possibly disappeared around Palopo District. Therefore, the aircraft was lost contact shortly after takeoff, about 11 minutes from the airport in Masamba.
Aviastar aircraft types DHC6 with registration number PKBRM which was departing from Masamba to Makassar, was lost contact. The aircraft has departed from Masamba at 14:35 pm and was scheduled to arrive at Sultan Hasanuddin Airport at around 15:39 pm.
There were three crews on board, namely, Captain Iri Afriady, Co.Pilot Yudhisthira, and Engineer Sukris. There were also seven passengers, namely Nurul Fatin M, Lisa Falentin, Afif (baby), Riza Arman, M Natsir, Sakhi Arqam, and Raya (baby).
