REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, SURABAYA -- The Surabaya city government's performance in the budget year 2015 has surpassed its target, Surabaya Mayor Tri Rismaharini said.
"Revenue from levies by the end of September reached 94.7 percent of the target, while regional initiated income (PAD) reached 82.32 percent of the target," she said here on Sunday.
However, regional spending stood at 50 percent of the target.
"In terms of regional spending, Surabaya ranks sixth in East Java," she said.
The budget absorption has not reached its maximum as most of construction projects worth Rp1.5 trillion will have been completed by the end of this year, she said.
The mayor said she will soon resolve several large projects which have turned problematic, including the Pasar Turi project.
To resolve the problematic projects, the city government has sought assistance from the Supreme Court, she said.
"We have written a letter to the Supreme Court to help handle the Pasar Turi problem," she said.
The other problem the city government still has to resolve is healthcare insurance organized by the Social Security Agency (BPJS). Many residents of Surabaya have not been covered by the service, she said.
