Beware of sacrificial animals with brucellosis

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, KARANGANYAR -- In the dry season weather conditions, the sacrificial animals were potentially suffered a disease called brucellosis. This types of digestive disorders disease was caused by a dry pet food consumed.

Department of Animal Husbandry and Fisheries of Karanganyar initiated health checks of sacrificial animals before the Eid al-Adha. According to the Head of Department of Animal Husbandry and Fisheries of Karanganyar, Sumijarto, the characteristics of animals with brucellosis was difficult to identify.

"However, a cow with brucellosis will has less passionate," he said, Monday (21/9).

According to Sumijarto, this condition was different than in last year Eid al-Adha. The disease was caused by heartworms and usually occurred during rainy season.

"We still anticipate by forming 20 teams to spread to all regions in Karanganyar," he added.

Additionally, the Department continued to check periodically that include cattle health conditions and examination abnormalities of the cattle. The thorough checks was done on animals which are likely to be used as sacrificial animals.
