REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Bank Indonesia (BI) predicted the economic growth in the third quarter of 2015 to reach 4.8 percent or 4.9 percent. The amount was higher than in the second quarter which was only 4.67 percent.

Executive Director of Department of Economic and Monetary Policy BI, Juda Agung, said positive economic growth was seen by Gross Domestic Product (GDP) which was higher than before. However, Indonesia's economic growth was not reached the target of 5.2 percent.

"Maybe it wasn't touch five percent yet, but it has begun to improve. The range was between 4.8 to 4.9 percent," he explained, in Jakarta, Friday (11/9).

He said the fiscal movements were also positive. Government capital spending grew of 30 percent from January to August. 13 percent higher than the same period last year.

"That has started a positive impact on the economy. I think in the fourth quarter, the growth will be higher than now," he added.
