REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MILAN -- After enlivened by celebration of Indonesia Independence Day with the theme 'The Marvelous 70' and received a record from Guinness World Records and Indonesian Record Museum (Muri) for highest Tumpeng, Indonesian Pavilion organized the National Day event on 6th September.
The event, which was pioneered the Ministry of Commerce and attended by government institutions, among others, Minister of Industry Saleh Husin, representatives of Ministry of Tourism, Investment Coordinating Agency (BKPM) and 21 chief editors of national media, aimed to introduce the potential of trade , investment, and tourism in Indonesia.
"The event was opened at the Expo Center, Milan, which was attended by ministry staff, some chief editors of national media and delegates from the participating countries of Milan Expo 2015," as stated at the press release of Indonesian Pavilion committee sent to Republika.co.id, Wednesday (8/9).
To enliven the National Day, the Indonesian Pavilion presented Banyuwangi Ethno Carnaval and angklung players who has been well-known in the international, namely Angklung Mang Udjo in interactive session. A total of 500 angklung were distributed for free to foreign visitors to be played together.
"Visitors were excited to watch Angklung Mang Udjo performances and very interested in learning how to play angklung," said the statement.
Indonesian pavilion also held Business Forum and One-On-One Meeting under the theme "Cooperation Between Indonesia and Italy on Leather, Footwear, and Textile Industry". The meeting was attended by Indonesian Minister of Industry, Italian Trade Agency (ITA), President of ASSOMAC and President of ACIMIT, Honorary Consul Republic of Indonesia Mr. Jacopo Fusaia, and President of the Italian Chamber of Commerce of South-East Asia.
The meeting was marked by signing of Technical Cooperation in Textile and Footwear Industry Development, represented by Anastasius Riyanto as Director of International Industrial Cooperation Region 1 and Paola Brunetti as Director of International Relations and International Organizations of the Ministry of Economic Development of Italy.
Business Forum was expected to enhance the cooperation relations of economy, that can boost a variety of Indonesian exports to Italy in particular and to the Europe in general.
