Finance Minister: Indonesian economy will improve in 2016

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Economy of Indonesia was expected to improve in 2016. The G20 meeting in Turkey has concluded that this year was a heavy period for economic growth.

Finance Minister Bambang Brodjonegoro reported the results of the G20 meeting in Turkey to President Joko Widodo.

"There is no good prospect to anyone. This year was so tough," he said, Wednesday (9/9).

According to Bambang, the improvement of US economic data have an impact to other countries. The consequences include pressure on rupiah and bonds. He conveyed to the President, that the economy should be kept well until the end of the year.

He said, the prospects for next year will be better. The reason is, because there is certainty about the US interest rate policy and devaluation of Chinese yuan has begun to stabilize.

"Economic certainty in 2016 will be more promising," he added.
