Italian entrepreneurs eye Indonesia's market

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, LONDON -- A group of Italian entrepreneurs are enthusiastic about doing business with Indonesia, the Information Counselor at the Indonesian Embassy in Rome, Aries Asriadi, said in a press release received by Antara on Wednesday.

He said more than 125 Italian businesspersons had participated in the Indonesia Investment Day organized by the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) and the Indonesian Embassy in Rome, as well as the Italian Trade Agency.

The Indonesia Investment Day event was held at the World Expo Milano 2015 in Milan, on Monday.

At the forum, the Indonesian delegation explained investment opportunities in Indonesia and invited the Italian business players, in particular, and the Europeans to take advantage of this opportunity.

The President of the Italian Trade Agency (ITA), Riccardo Monti, encouraged every effort to boost economic cooperation between the two countries, especially in the field of investment and infrastructure.

During the event, the Indonesian and Italian delegations signed a Memorandum of Understanding to promote cooperation, particularly in investment.

The MoU is expected to encourage Italian investment in Indonesia, which has shown positive development over time.

In 2014, the value of Italian investment in Indonesia reached US$ 63 million. This figure increased by 70 percent over the previous year.
