REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BANGKOK -- The Minburi Court in Bangkok has issued warrants of arrest for two more suspects in connection with the bomb attack in central Bangkok on Aug 17.
At the same time, the Bangkok police chief announced that border controls would be tightened.
Royal Thai Police spokesman Police Lieutenant General Prawuth Thavornsiri said the Minburi court issued warrants of arrest against two foreign male suspects whose images were captured on closed-circuit television cameras at a shopping mall.
Speaking to reporters, he said the warrants were issued following investigations after a raid at the Poonanan apartment in Nong Chok district recently.
"They were in the same group, stayed together in rooms 412 and 414 at the Poonanan Apartment complex. I don't know their nationalities," he said.
So far, the Minburi Court has issued 11 warrants of arrest against suspects of the bomb attack.
At a separate press conference, Thai Police Chief, General Somyot Pumpanmuang said he instructed the immigration officials to tighten control at Thai checkpoints bordering neighboring countries.
He told the media this after chairing a meeting with immigration officials from across the country here Monday.
