Kenny G to perform at Prambanan Jazz

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- A saxophone player from the United States, Kenny G, will perform at international festival Prambanan Jazz, that will be held at Brahma complex of Prambanan temple, Yogyakarta, 16th October 2015.

"Kenny G has produced masterpiece of world-class music. Prambanan was also a masterpiece of native Indonesia, which has been recognized by the world. So, Prambanan Jazz is a blend of musical creativity and a place, called masterpieces," said the originator of Prambanan Jazz, Anas Syahrul Alimi, in Jakarta, Sunday (6/9).

Besides Kenny G, Prambanan Jazz will also be enlivened by a number of renowned jazz musicians such as Tompi and Isyana Sarasvati. Several national and local artists from Jogja also will certainly perform in this jazz music festival.

Anas who is also the CEO of Rajawali Indonesia added that the idea of ​​the festival was originated from the desire to create a world-class music festival in Yogyakarta.

Anas and Bakkar Wibowo's idea was approved by PT Taman Wisata Candi Prambanan, Borobudur, and Boko. After a long discussion, finally there was an agreement between Rajawali Indonesia Com as a promoter and PT Taman Wisata Candi Prambanan, Borobudur, and Boko as manager, to make the courtyard of temple as the venue for Prambanan Jazz for the first time.

"The choice of the courtyard of Prambanan Temple as the venue was to show that Prambanan Temple is one of the icons of tourism in Yogyakarta that has been widely known by the world. Exoticism and beauty in Prambanan temple is considered to be more interesting for musicians and jazz fans in Indonesia and world to come," he explained.

Anas hope, from the courtyard of Prambanan temple, Rajawali Indonesia and PT Taman Wisata Candi Prambanan agreed to make Prambanan Jazz to be an annual jazz festival.

"The festival can contribute in promoting and encouraging Yogyakarta as an increasingly attractive tourist destination for domestic and foreign tourists," he continued.
