REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) appointed Teten Masduki as Head of Presidential Staff, replacing Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, Wednesday (2/9). Teten inauguration was held at the Presidential Palace and it was attended by a number of cabinet ministers and leaders of state institutions.
Teten was appointed as Head of Presidential Staff based on a Presidential Decree No. 91/P 2015 on the dismissal and appointment of the head of the presidential staff. On his new position, he gets equal financial rights and facilities as the minister.
Before becoming Head of Presidential Staff, Teten became President’s Communications Team. He was born in Garut, West Java, and became a member of a successful team of Jokowi-JK in 2014 presidential election. Teten was also known as an anti-corruption activist from Indonesia Corruption Watch (ICW).
