REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Invasion of foreign workers in Indonesia, especially from China should be restricted. It was because there were still millions of Indonesian people who need decent occupations.

"The government should immediately restrict the invasion of foreign workers and should provide greater job opportunities for our people," said the Member of Commission IX, House of Representatif (DPR), Roberth Rouw, in a press release, Saturday (22/8).

If the President Joko Widodo does not it, it means that he does not implement the concept of Bung Karno’s Tri Sakti. Whereas, the concept was a part of his promise in his presidential campaign to develop the country.

Roberth hoped Permenaker 16/2015 on Procedures for Control and Use of Foreign Workers can be implemented. The regulation is useful to tighten the entry of foreign workers to Indonesia.

Until the mid of 2015, there were 41,365 foreign workers that got Permits Using Foreign Workers (IMTA) that were issued by the Ministry of Labor for foreign workers from China throughout 1st January 2014 to May 2015.

In Indonesia, the foreign workers now reached 12,837 workers. Trade and services sectors become most desirable fields with 26,579 workers. The next most favored sector is industrial sector with 11,114 workers.
