REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim) Police recently raided two locations of cattle hoarding. Police also are investigating companies which are suspected as meat cartel.
"There are 24 cattle companies indicated the meat cartel," said chairman of the Business Competition Supervisory Commission (KPPU), Syarkawi Rauf, Thursday (20/8).
The 24 companies that indicated meat cartel, are in Greater Jakarta. The investigator team will decide the next step to against the companies, in September.
Syarkawi explained, after the investigator team specify which companies are proven as meat cartel, administrative sanctions will be issued. The KPPU will also issue a recommendation to the authorities to revoke the business license of the companies.
Earlier, the Directorate of Special Economic Crime Criminal Investigation Police found 21 thousand cattle from two locations in Tangerang. Four thousand cattle are not cut yet, whereas the cattle should be cut to be distributed to the market.
