REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Minister of Public Works and Public Housing, Basuki Hadimuljono, said that eight dam projects for Rp 8.4 trillion are ready to be auctioned in October 2015. He explained that the eight dams are infrastructure projects that become government priority in 2016. It aims to achieve food sovereignty.
"The tender will be in September or October. The construction will be completed in 2016,” he said.
Basuki explained that it is related to a new government policy that promotes the time of preparation for the implementation of infrastructure projects in 2016. Thus, the plan and preparation must be completed in December 2015, so that the physical execution can be started in January 2016.
The eighth dam project are a part of the development targets of 49 dams in five years to 2019. The eight dams will be built by the government in the next year.
It will be located in several places. Ciawi dam is Rp 1.69 trillion in West Java. Sukamahi dam is Rp 1.1 trillion in West Java. Kolhua dam is Rp 569 billion in Kupang.
Then, the Rukoh dam is Rp 553 billion in Pidie, Aceh. Kuwil dam is Rp 1.5 trillion in Minahasa, North Sulawesi. Sukoharjo dam is Rp 1 trillion in Pringsewu, Lampung. Sindangheula dam is Rp 496 billion in Banten. Cipanas dam is Rp 2.1 trillion in West Java.
Besides the construction of eight dams, there the ministry will also be ready to do the auction for the construction of national toll roads of Trans Sumatra and Trans Papua. Ministry expects to complete the remaining construction of approximately 900 kilometers, of the total 4,325 kilometer of Trans Papua until 2018.
In the 2016 draft budget, Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing receives a budget allocation of Rp 103.8 trillion.
