REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Thomas Trikasih Lembong was officially inaugurated by the President Joko Widodo to replace Rachmat Gobel as Minister of Trade.  The inauguration took place at the State Palace, Jakarta, Wednesday (12/8).

Thomas who familiarly called Tom Lembong is a young entrepreneur who got Bachelor of Arts degree from Harvard University in 1994. He is the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Partner at an equity firm in Singapore, namely Quvat Management Pte Ltd.

Tom's career in finance began when he worked at the equity division at Morgan Stanley, Singapore in 1995-1996. He also ever became an investment banker at Deutsche Securities of Indonesia in 1999-2000.

During 2000-2002, Tom became a Head of Division and Senior Deputy of the Indonesian Banking Restructuring Agency. After that, Tom joined the investment company, namely Farindo Investment in 2002-2005. Then, in 2006, Tom founded the investment company, Quvat Capital.

His company has committed funds up to 500 million US dollars. In addition, Quvat have eleven portfolio companies in various sectors such as maritime logistics, consumer, and finance.

In 2008, he awarded as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum. Tom also became a the President Commissioner of PT Graha Layar Prima Tbk since 2012.
