Domestic flights in Ngurah Rai decrease 5.32 Percent

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, DENPASAR -- Ngurah Rai International Airport, Bali, dispatched 3,081 units of flights to various destinations in Indonesia during June 2015. The amount of flight decreased by 5.32 percent compared to May 2015, which had 3,254 flights.

There were 1.097 flights from Bali to Jakarta, 441 flights from Bali to Surabaya (East Java), 216 flights from Bali to Praya Lombok (West Nusa Tenggara), 199 flights from Bali to Yogyakarta, and 180 flights from Bali to Bandung.

"The number of passengers reached 356 184 people, also decreased by 5.17 percent over the previous month which was recorded 375.617 people," said the head of the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of Bali, Panusunan Siregar, in Denpasar, Monday (10/8).

It was as well as the amount of luggage and goods transported, which decreased by 4.01 percent from 3,672 tons in May 2015 to 3,524 tons in June 2015.

In recent months, the airport impose "closed-open" due to the spread of volcanic ash of Mount Raung in East Java that interfere the flight path. General Manager of PT Angkasa Pura I Ngurah Rai International Airport, Bali, Trikora Harjo, explained that the airport is still optimistic to provide the best service to passengers.
