REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Home Affairs Minister Tjahjo Kumolo has just inaugurated Tarmizi A Karim as the new Inspector General of the Home Affairs Ministry, on Wednesday, July 15. After inaugurating, to Tarmizi, Tjahjo asked Inspector General's role to be more optimized primarily related to the control of gratification.

"The Inspector General should be the primary role of internal, especially in optimizing the gratification control unit," said Tjahjo after the inauguration in Inspector General Building of Home Affairs Ministry, Jakarta, on Wednesday, July 15.

He said the Inspector General should be forefront in guarding the monitoring implementation of work unit in the internal of Home Affairs Ministry. Including in relation to improve the role of Government Internal Supervisory Apparatus (APIP). He continued that the Inspector General could become party to prevent manipulation in the internal ministry.

"Instead of getting caught or getting the difficulty from external, it certainly the Inspector General should be fortify first before BPKP provide guidance or before BPK audit it," he said.

If there is already findings and so, has become the realm of related parties either police, prosecutors or other supervisory agencies. Therefore, the Home Affairs Minister expected the accountability in various fields in order to be further improved and getting better.

"We also want better regional financial accountability, accountability for many decisions of Regional Head’s policies and Parliament is also getting better," he said.
