REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- General Gatot Nurmantyo as the new Military (TNI) commander said they will evaluate the recruitment process, coaching and education of TNI soldiers. It was done so that the clashes case between fellow officers not repeated.

He said based on the findings of the cases that occured in the field, nearly 80 percent of clashes cases between forces was done by Prada (Warrior Two) ranking soldiers.

“So there were the new soldiers. This will be my evaluation, how the pattern of recruitment, coaching, and education and post education, '' he said after attending the Handover Ceremony of the TNI Commander position at the TNI Headquarters, Cilangkap, East Jakarta, on Tuesday, July 14.

However, Gatot insisted the clashes perpetrators in Semarang, Central Java, was done by Army and Police personnel. Not only that, in an effort to resolve the conflict that often occurred between military personnel and police officers, Gatot revealed, TNI will continue the joint educational program between TNI and police personnel.

Joint educational program has been agreed upon by the Police Chief and Gen. Moeldoko, while he was still a military commander. The agreement for the joint education had already occurred at the end of last year.

“The point is, (the education) must be in three months periods, then later being developed into the next six months. But the important thing is a matter of discipline, joint education, increase discipline, and activities together, " he explained.
