Padang set to be city of Quran hafiz

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, PADANG -- City Government of Padang want to make the area as a city of Quran hafiz. Therefore, it was expected that all elements of society could be synergized to support the program.

"Hopefully, Padang in future becomes city of Quran hafiz. We hope people continue to give support," said the mayor of Padang, Mahyeldi Ansharullah in the opening of Integrated Quran Camp (MQT) I, which held in Tahfidz house, Baitul Quran in Padang, West Sumatra, on Monday, July 6.

According to him, the effort to make Padang as the city of Quran hafiz has been seen since the last few years. First, it began with the holding of Ramadan boarding schools every holy month. This step, according to him, was expected to make all students in Padang, motivated as hafiz Quran since early stage.

Besides, he continued, there were activities such as one day one juz. Mahyeldi admitted he pleased to see measures and efforts to make Padang as the city of Quran literate. "Our target is every student graduating elementary school (SD) able to memorize one juz of the Quran. Because we want at Padang there are Quran hafizes," he said.

According to him, the Quran could be used for performance variables for students to be accepted in favorite schools. Because, he continued, for students who were unable to read or memorized the Quran as much as 30 juz, was given the opportunity to choose the desired school.

 

"In general, clever child is a child who memorized the Quran," said Mahyeldi.

Meanwhile, the Head of Tahfidz House Baitul Quran, Rezki Rahmadani said activities of MQT I was an attempt to make students memorize the Quran. He revealed, there were 24 students attended the MQT I.

"We hope that during the three days of this MQT, the entire students memorized half of juz of Quran," said Rezki.
