REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The police questioned former state-owned enterprises minister Dahlan Iskan on Tuesday as a witness in an alleged case of corruption related to a rice field project in West Kalimantan.
"He was questioned over an alleged corruption case related to a rice field project," Yusril Ihza Mahendra, Iskan's lawyer, said at the National Police's Criminal Investigation Department (Bareskrim) here on Tuesday.
Iskan, who arrived at the Bareskrim building at around 09:00 a.m., did not comment and walked straight into the building.
The rice field project was carried out in Ketapang, West Kalimantan, between 2012 and 2014 when Iskan was the state-owned enterprises minister.
In the Rp317-billion rice field project, the police believed it violated the contract. They also found fictitious profits in connection with the project.
State-owned food company PT Sang Hyang Seri (SHS) was responsible for the venture. For its implementation, it was assisted by several companies, including PT Hutama Karya, PT Brantas Abipraya, PT Yodya Karya, and PT Indra Karya.
In addition, several state-owned companies are believed to have financially supported the project, such as PT BNI, PT Pertamina, PT Pelindo II, PT BRI, and PT PGN.
The rice field project allegedly violated article 2 paragraph (1) and/or article 3 of law number 31/1999 on corruption eradication as amended by law number 20/2001.
