KPK continues to investigate regional heads related to Akil's case

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has set Regent of Morotai, Rusli Sibua as a suspect in the alleged bribery case against the Chairman of the Constitutional Court (MK) related to disputes of local elections. This case was also the result of the case development of former chairman of the Constitutional Court, Akil Mochtar.

Caretaker (Plt) of KPK leaders, Johan Budi said, until now the commission continued to develop the case in Akil's case. KPK also continued to target other regional heads that indicated to be involved.

"Case development continues to be done," said Johan, when contacted by ROL on Sunday, June 28.

Local election dispute cases which were involving the regional heads, Johan admitted was pretty much. KPK has set some regional heads as suspects.

However, Johan did not know the exact number of whole regional heads which were set as suspects in the case of local election disputes.

Furthermore, Johan explained, KPK also continued to explore the involvement of other judges in Akil's case. However, so far, said Johan, KPK still has not seen the involvement of other judges. C37
