REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- President Communications Team, Teten Masduki ensured that President Jokowi rejected the proposal of revision of Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK)’s law. He said, the President has also instructed State Secretary, Pratikno, to follow up on the government's attitude.
"The president asked State Secretary for following up the results of limited meeting (Ratas) yesterday. President rejected the proposal of revisions of KPK’s law," said Teten via short message on Republika, on Monday, June 22.
Nevertheless, Teten did not explain what kind mechanism will be done by Pratikno for issuing the proposal of revisions of KPK’s law from National Legislation Programs (Prolegnas) 2015.
Previously, the caretaker of KPK’s Chairman Taufiequrrachman Ruki said that President Joko Widodo rejected to revise KPK’s law. Ruki also ensured the President did not want to discuss the revision with House of Representatives (DPR).
"President said he rejects the proposal to revise five points in KPK’s Law. For us, it was a relief," he said.
According to Ruki, Jokowi requested that the revision of KPK’s law postponed until the revised of Criminal Procedure Code and the Criminal Code completed.
