REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The Indonesian Embassy in Hanoi, Vietnam, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Hanoi University (HANU) and the Vietnam Dance College (VDC) to build an Indonesian study center in Hanoi University.
A statement by the Indonesian Embassy in Hanoi received by Antara here on Monday stated that the MoU was signed on June 11, 2015, to commemorate the 60th anniversary of relations between Indonesia and Vietnam.
Accordance to the MoU, the two sides agreed to establish an Indonesian Study Center in HANU, and the Indonesian Embassy will provide educational materials and research studies related to Indonesia to support the study center.
On the same occasion, the University of Tadulako (UNTAD), Palu, Central Sulawesi, and the HANU also inked an MoU.
UNTAD is the first Indonesian university to have signed an MoU with HANU.
Both universities will cooperate in terms of exchange of students and staff members, conducting joint research, exchange of academic information and lecture materials, as well as participation in seminars and academic meetings.
Indonesian Ambassador to Vietnam Mayerfas expressed hope that the signing of the MoU and the establishment of an Indonesian Study Center in HANU will attract increasingly more numbers of Vietnamese students who are familiar with Indonesia and encourage them to study in the country.
"This MoU marks a new chapter in the educational relationship between Indonesia and Vietnam to encourage real cooperation between the two countries," he affirmed.
President of HANU Nguyen Dinh Luan welcomed the cooperation with the Indonesian Embassy through the signing of the MoU and hoped that it would be immediately implemented.
On the same day, another MoU was also signed between the Indonesian Embassy in Hanoi and VDC on imparting Indonesian dance training to the students of VDC.
The Embassy will provide the teachers, and the dance classes will commence from August 2015.
