REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Vice President Jusuf Kalla (JK) asked civil servants (PNS) to eliminate the boundaries between the central and provincial civil servants. Therefore, civil servants must have national standards, but could act in accordance with local conditions.

"Because everything is according to existing rules, have national characteristics, national standards, its management according to the rules and local policies that we run," said JK while attending a meeting of the Officer National Coordination Meeting at Grand Sahid Hotel, Jakarta, on Wednesday, June 10.

Furthermore, JK said that one of civil servants tasks is to strengthen the unity of the nation, while also implementing government policies. Not only that, the Vice President also requested that the state civil authorities dare to take and implement policies.

Because, currently JK was also aware of the legal case that ensnared civil servants and make them worried in implementing the policy. Therefore, he also warned that civil servants could run the policy according to the rules.

"Certainly if according to the rules, it will not cause problems later. It takes courage to take action," added JK.

He added that every leader also always have the responsibilities and risks that must be endured. In addition, he said, the national employee was able to move their works from one institution to another.

On this occasion, JK also mentioned, the post of a minister was not prestigious anymore. Therefore, the minister no longer has the sole discretion to regulate his men. Supreme leader for the civil servants, he said, is the President.

"Of course there are positive, lest if the minister or president from party A, all of his officials from party A too," said Kalla.
