REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Japan's Kento Momota won the men's single of Indonesia Open 2015 defeating last year's champ, Danish Jan O Jorgensen in the final with scores 21-16, 19-21, 7-21 at the Senayan Sports Palace here on Sunday.
"In the third game I got a lot of supports from the spectators. I would like to thank them all," Kento said after the competition.
In the first game, Jorgensen led the contest from the beginning scoring points which could not be followed by Kento.
The 20 year Japanese player was made powerless in facing Jorgensen smashes, though some of his smashes hit the net. The Danish won the first game with a score of 21-16.
But in the second game, the bout proceeded toughly. Even the two single players involved in a brief quarrel over violation committed by Jorgensen.
Kento happened to lead in the beginning but Jorgensen was able to take over the point collection. Yet, the Japanese player fought back and took over the lead until he finished the game with a score of 19-21.
In the third game, Kento led the contest from the beginning through a combination of hard smashes and nice netting technique. Kento appeared victorious winning the third game with a score 7-21.
