Woman signing up as KPK leaders candidates

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Chairman of selection team of Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Destry Damayanti said that on the first day, Friday, June 5, of official registration of KPK leader’s candidates there were four people whom came to Secretariat of KPK selection team in Complex of State Secretariat Ministry, Jakarta. One of them was a woman.

“Until now, we have seen before, there were four people that were already present. One person has asked the details of requirements. Another two had already signed up immediately. The last one was a woman,” said Destry Damayanti, on Friday, June 5.

In addition, there were four people who signed up via email to mail address of KPK selection team.

Destry said that the selection team is openly receive input from various parties, including submit the names that are considered worthy to lead KPK.

“We are ‘picking up the ball’ too. We want to be proactive. Of course, we heard a lot of input from the community,” she said.

Destry explained, the enthusiasm of people to sign up, could still be considered as high, although recently a number of alleged crimes cases often addressed to a number of management and staff of KPK.

"Now that KPK has a lot of pressure, I think this could be a challenge for the future the Commission is better," she said.
