REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BLITAR -- Chairman of the State Audit Board (BPK) Harry Azhar Aziz said it would hold a board trial on Wednesday, June 3. The trial was held to determine the form of audits of the General Election Commission (KPU) related to local elections (elections).
"Just want to be taken on tomorrow's meeting in the board trial. It was not to be decided. The board trial was made up of nine people," said Harry in Blitar, East Java, on Monday, June 1.
Harry said, the board decision which was the country's decision minimum approved five of nine votes. This, he added, in accordance with existing legislation.
He also hinted KPU audit could be done because simultaneous local elections was a strategic thing. "Clearly these simultaneous local elections become a major strategic done. So it must be careful because it is concerned about the quality of democracy and integrity of our nation. It's 269 the region elections," he said.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Chairman of Commission II of the House of Representatives (DPR) Lukman Edy ensured that KPU audits will not disturb the election stage. This, he added, because the elections are held by KPU on regions.
"KPU center just monitor it," said Lukman.
The PKB politician admitted the assumption that a proposal to audit KPU was made because there were many who did not agree with the revision of the local election law. "Some say revenge as well. So we will deepen it," said chairman of the PKB faction at the MPR.
