REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, LAGOS -- Indonesia Trade and Promotion Center (ITPC) Lagos aims for three goals in the Nigerian business cooperation which are covering trade, investment, and tourism. Because chance of improvement of trade between Indonesia and Nigeria is still wide open.
Head of ITPC Lagos, Nino Wawan Setiawan said Nigeria is a country in Africa which has a positive economic growth trend, with an average growth of 6.75 percent per year. In addition, in 2014, Nigeria's total non-oil exports reached 628 million US dollars.
"ITPC Lagos is successfully facilitating business contract furniture products between Nigeria and the Indonesian company with a value of 97,854 USD, and the subsequent finalization of the contract will be conducted in Jakarta on May 20, 2015," Nino said in a press release received by Republika on Sunday, May 17.
Nino said the agreement reached in business gathering event undertaken by the two countries. To show interest in business cooperation, the Nigerian entrepreneur will send a delegation to conduct business forum in Jakarta on the end of May 2015.
Meanwhile, Indonesian Ambassador to Nigeria, Harry Purwanto, optimist that investment and tourism from Africa will continue to increase as the investment climate in Indonesia is improving. Moreover, the Indonesian government is preparing infrastructure projects to increase the flow of foreign investment, supported by adequate regulation.
"There are many excellent products Indonesia which is not yet known in West Africa and Nigeria in particular, so that they will continue to grow even more," said Harry.
Harry invited the Nigerian entrepreneurs to participate in the Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI) 2015 on 21 to 25 October 2015 in Jakarta. Nigeria is a country that has a large population on the African continent, and could be a new opportunity for the Indonesian market.
