REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Directorate General of Standardization and Consumer Protection of Ministry of Trade (Kemendag) exterminated water pump that did not comply with the Indonesian National Standard (SNI). The extermination was done to protect the consumer as a result of the products that were not qualified.
"Today, the team of directorate destroyed 72 water pumps of GP-125 MTY brands that did not fit the requirements of SNI. For the sake of consumer protection, we firmly crack down on products that infringe the SNI," said Director General of Standardization and Consumer Protection of the Ministry of Trade, Widodo, in Jakarta, on Monday, May 11.
Widodo hope this extermination could encourage further the creation of a healthy business climate, increasing the production and use of local products, and to prevent the distortion of market circulation of imported products which are not accordance with provisions.
