REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BOGOR -- There are five policewomen in Bogor Resort Police who have decided to wear hijab after relaxation from police leadership, although, there are still no distributions of hijab from the relevant agencies. However, for those who wish to use it before the distribution are allowed.
"Because there is no provision, so they buy on their own," said Head of Public Relations Bogor Police Resort, Police Adjunct Commissioner (AKP) Ita Puspitalena to ROL, on Friday May 8.
Ita admitted that she had intended to wear hijab for along time. However, her wish was only implemented in March. This is because it has been enacted Decree of the Head Chief of Police of Indonesia, No: Kep/245/III/2015. The rule pointed out that to personnel who want to wear hijab are allowed.
However, not yet all of women personnel wear hijab, as they waited for hijab procurement from agencies. Some personnel who want to wear more quickly had to buy their own hijab supplies.
"Now it is the process of procurement from agencies," she said.
