REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Minister of Home Affairs, Tjahjo Kumolo said the establishment of commercial sex workers localization in the region must do a careful assessment between the heads of regional and local legislatures.
It was responding to the discourse of Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama related to the development of localization in one of the regions in the Capital. "Any decisions regarding the public interest, the interests of the public, it must pay attention and look at what is desired by the community. So the momentum should be seen in a comprehensive manner," said Minister of Home Affairs in the Office of the Vice President in Jakarta, Thursday (30/4).
He explained that prostitution is a complex issue because it involves the lives and morals of society. Therefore, the Governor and Parliament should discuss the plan so that the plan would not lead to problems and losses in the future.
"Prostitution is a complex problem. Is that built localization will guarantee the practice of prostitution does not appear anywhere else? I think the governor would have to listen to Parliament and public figures," he explained.
Earlier, Governor Basuki rolling discourses about localization development in Jakarta on joint leadership meeting of regional working units (SKPD). The discourse is intended that the practice of prostitution in the capital can be monitored, controlled and minimize the spread of the HIV virus to the public.
It followed the discovery that impersonates legitimate business boarding house in a number of areas in Jakarta. Basuki himself was aware of the development of localization also raises contras among the people.
"Localization is actually also not being able to (be built) because there is a ban from Law and the Criminal Code. I'm just throwing this discourse so that people are aware that in Jakarta there are localization in Mangga Besar, Ancol and Kota area.
