REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BEKASI -- Trade Minister Rachmat Gobel on Thursday inaugurated the operation of K-Log Park Cibitung, Indonesia's largest integrated logistics zone in Bekasi, West Java.

"K-Log Park Cibitung is expected to bring down logistics cost to make it competent in domestic and international markets," the trade minister said in his inaugural address.

Rachmat noted that logistics cost at home should be reduced as Indonesia currently has the highest logistics cost, especially in the ASEAN region.

"Our logistics cost is the highest in ASEAN. We have to reduce it so our logistics can compete in other markets when the ASEAN Economic Community is implemented in January 2016," Rachmat affirmed.

In the meantime, CEO of PT Kamadjaja Logistics Ivan Kamadjaja stated that K-Log Park Cibitung has been built on an 18-hectare plot of land and will function as an integrated logistics hub to reduce the high logistics cost.

Ivan stressed he will continue to make positive efforts for Indonesia's economic development.

"Together with the government, we will continue to consistently address economic problems so we can compete at both regional and international levels," he remarked.

According to him, K-Log Park Cibitung is another landmark in the growth of PT. Kamadjaja Logistics that has evolved over the past 46 years as a transformation model for the logistics industry in Indonesia.

K-Log Park is an integrated logistics complex facility that synergizes a complete, modern, and competitive supply chain solution.

"Facilities offered within this single complex include modern logistics warehouses, domestic and international freight forwarding, toll manufacturing, value-added services, container yard, transportation hubs, and cold storage," he explained.

K-Log Park Cibitung is strategically located and easily accessible from 3 highways: JORR 1, JORR 2, and Cikampek. JORR 2, which is currently under construction, will connect directly to the Tanjung Priok Port. This location will enhance cost-effective distribution.

From a total of 22 distribution center facilities owned by PT. Kamadjaja Logistics in 17 main cities across Indonesia, K-Log Park Cibitung is the most extensive facility with more than 180,000 square meters in area.
