REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, KEDIRI -- The Kediri City Police in East Java have arrested a student for alleged drug trafficking.
"We had been spying on him for quite a long time. We arrested him when he was making some transactions," Chief of the Detective and Drug Unit of the Kediri City Police Adj. Commr. Ridwan Sahara said here on Friday.
The student of a private university in Kediri has been identified by his initials as DIM. The 22-year-old student who is a resident of Jarak village in Plosoklaten subdistrict, Kediri district, was arrested at Veteran Street in Kediri when he was doing a transaction.
The police also seized 0.6 grams of crystal meth (sabu-sabu) from the suspect.
Based on information received from the suspect, the police later arrested another person, VAN, on drug charges and seized from him 14 grams of crystal meth in 40 small packs weighing 0.2 grams to 0.6 grams each.
Ridwab noted that both DIM and VAN stayed at separate rented houses in Kediri.
According to him, the police are investigating the case and have identified a person who is believed to have supplied the contraband to the two suspects.
The police will hunt down the drug supplier, he added.
