REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Political analyst from the Indonesian Institute of Science (LIPI) Firman Noor said the United Development Party (PPP) is the likeliest to change allegiance from the Red and White Coalition (KMP) to the Great Indonesia Coalition (KIH).

The Islamic party is closer to joining KIH than Golkar and the National Mandate Party (PAN) are, Firman said here on Wednesday.

KMP groups the majority political parties supporting Prabowo Subianto and KIH is a coalition of parties supporting Joko Widodo now the president, in the last presidential election.

PPP, Golkar and PAN were among the parties grouped in KMP supporting Prabowo Subianto but lost.

Later PPP, which has been split into two, changed its position and withdrew support for KMP.

"Currently they are even seen as KIH member although it could be different later depending on condition. But compared to Golkar and PAN, PPP is the likeliest to join KIH, Firman said.

He said even if Djan Faridz, the general chairman of the PPP of the Jakarta congress once said KPM was no more than a thing of the past, did not mean they would join KIH.

The statement could , however, means that they would support the government, he said.

"I think, the statement of Djan Faridz was meant to say that the party representatives at Parliament did not necessarily be split into two . I think that is also a standard statement by KMP that it would support the government policy if it is pro people," he said.

The internal conflict of PPP is not yet over as the dispute is yet to be settled at the State Administrative Court.

There is no signs that the Djan Faridz camp and the other under Romahurmuzyi are seriously seeking a reconciliation.

"However, politics are dynamic , everything could happen within days. Djan Faridz may choose not join any of the opposing coalitions but Romahurmuzyi clearly supports KIH," he said.

Meanwhile the conflict that hits Golkar could also bring the party to turning to KIH, but the possibility is not as strong as PPP.

"Although the Justice and Human Right Minister has given way to the Agung Laksono camp, the rival camp under Aburizal Bakrie would certainly nut easily give up. They would resist. Aburizal camp has many experts in law. The party conflict is likely to continue for a longer time," Firman said.

As for PAN , although the new general chairman Zulkifli Hasan, who replace Hatta Rajasa, often issued statements not in line with those of KMP, it seems PAN would remain with KMP.

"Zulkifli and Hatta Rajasa were initiators of PAN to join KMP, only Zulkifli is more moderate than Hatta," he said.
