REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, PALANGKARAYA -- The National Narcotics Agency (BNN) has appealed to all campuses in Central Kalimantan to crackdown on drug networks in educational institutions as Indonesia is in a state of drug emergency.
Central Kalimantan BNN spokesman Baja Sukma stated here on Monday that drugs pose a serious threat to the younger generation, particularly school and university students.
"The campuses should support the government's efforts to eradicate the circulation of drugs," Sukma remarked, adding that the dangers of drug abuse in the scope of schools and campuses should be given special attention by the government, teachers, and academicians.
He reiterated that Indonesia has been in a state of drug emergency, and hence, preventative efforts and spreading awareness regarding the dangers of drug abuse should be stepped up at schools and campuses.
"The international drug networks in Indonesia have started to bloom, and so, they must be nipped in the bud," he noted.
