REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, DENPASAR -- In January this year, 2,220 wide bodied aircraft took off from the Ngurah Rai airport on international flights, down 0.31 percent in number from 2,227 planes in December, 2014.
The aircraft carried a total of 351,740 passengers dominated by holiday makers , head of the provincial office of the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) Panusunan Siregar said here on Wednesday.
The number of passengers rose 9.44 percent from 321,369 in December, 2014, Panusunan said.
He said in January 2015, Bali recorded 301,748 foreign visitors including 288,755 via Ngurah Rai and 12,993 via seaports.
The number of visitors rose 8.05 percent from the same months in 2014 but fell 13.13 percent from December 2014.
The number of passenger aircraft on domestic flights taking off from the airport was recorded at 3,104 , down 9 percent from 3,411 units in the previous month.
The number of domestic passengers leaving Bali totaled 355,290 down 9.11 percent from 390,913 in the previous months.
