BKPM invites 200 South Korean investors

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) is holding a CEO gathering event for 200 South Korean investors at its office building here on Wednesday.

"This gathering is being held to give a projection to the investors regarding the investment climate in Indonesia and to showcase the policies made by the government," stated BKPM Chairman Franky Sibarani.

In the event themed, "Indonesia Economic Perspective, Infrastructure and Manufacture Investment Opportunities and Challenges 2015-2019," the BKPM has invited South Korean investors to Jakarta as in the last five years, South Korea has emerged as one of the biggest investors in Indonesia.

"Based on the real investment data for the 2010-2014 period, South Korea ranked fourth in the list of leading nations to have invested in Indonesia," Franky noted.

Coordinating Minister for Economy Sofyan Djalil, South Korean Ambassador to Indonesia Cho Tai-young, and Director General of Korea Trade Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) Song Yoo Hwang are also attending the event.
