REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, TANGERANG -- The Tangerang city administration said it will build an integrated bus terminal serving 7 types of transport system in the city.
City Mayor Arief R Wismansyah said he was inspired by an integrated station bus he saw in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
"We will use the system in the Poris terminal and the plan has been proposed to the transport ministry," Arief said here on Thursday.
He said the transport minister gave a positive response and promised to help build a bridge to link Poris Plawad terminal and the Batu Ceper railway station.
A new lane would be made between the Poris Plawad terminal and Batu Ceper, he said.
He said the entire plan has been submitted to the transport ministry , adding," we are waiting the approval of the minister and the president."
Implementation of the plan would help reduce traffic jams in Jakarta , he said.
Around half of the people of Tangerang visit Jakarta everyday using private cars.
"Hopefully they no longer use private cars as we will make the railway station integrated with other bus terminals in the city," he said.
