REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo stated that Jakarta, as the capital city of Indonesia, needed good public transportation. Further study and calculation must be carried out.

"Whatever the kind is, Mass Rapid Transit (MRT), Light Rapid Transit (LRT), busway and other public transportation. Jakarta needs those," Jokowi said recently. "But we have to calculate first," he added.

Jokowi said that if the calculation did not meet the expectation, the building could not be continued. It has to meet the expectation of Jakarta Administration.

The statement was issued during his impromptu visit to Jakarta City Hall. He planned to visit Jakarta Health Center for dental check up.
