REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- State-owned Enterprises (SOE) Minister Rini M Soemarno said a number of SOE firms in the mining and infrastructure sectors would get state capital participation (PMN) funds amounting to Rp30 trillion this year.
"The biggest PMN funds will be injected to state companies in the mining and infrastructure sectors," Minister Rini said at her office on Wednesday.
She said these sectors will get priorities in line with the programs worked out by the government in its efforts to advance the nation's economy.
In the mining sector, PT Antam will get Rp7 trillion. "Antam needs investment to build a smelter, including the development of its downstream industries," the minister noted.
The construction sector will need a large fund from the PMD for the construction of roads, dams, irrigation, seaports and airports, she said.
Earlier, the minister of finance, Bambang Brodjonegoro said the government will be able to inject the MPN funds for state companies after it has succeeded in carrying out various efficiency drives and in widening its fiscal room in the state budget.
"The fiscal room has a fund about Rp230 trillion saved from budget efficiency drives," he argued.
