REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Minister of Transportation Ignasius Jonan officially announced 20 new seaports and 10 new airports in Indonesia. The facilities aim to open connectivity between islands in Indonesia.
"The funds are all taken from state budget," Jonan said on Friday, December 19.
The 20 seaports are Kalatoa Port in South Sulawesi, Malenge Port in Central Sulawesi, Paniti Port in North Maluku, Sagea Port in North Maluku, Matangisi Port in Central Sulawesi, Jinato Port in South Sulawesi, Tinombo Port in Central Sulawesi, Popoli Port in Central Sulawesi, Karimun Jawa Port in Central Java, and Pokai Port in West Sumatera. The building of all ports, starting from 2005, cost a trillion IDR.
Meanwhile, the 10 airports include two new terminals in I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport in Bali and Mutiara Sis Al Jufri Airport in Palu and eight new airports. New terminal in Bali and Palu each cost 2.8 trillion IDR and 180 billion IDR.
The 8 new airports, funded from state budget, aim to open access to remote areas. They serve aviation pioneer using ATR 72 600 and C-22/Grand Caravan. The airports are Enggano Airports in Bengkulu, Bone Airports in South Sulawesi, Tanjung Api Airport in Central Sulawesi, Karel Sadsuitubun Airport in Maluku, Jor Orno Imsula Airport in Maluku, Waghete Airport in Papua, Stevanus Rumbewas Airport in Papua, and Matahora Airport in Wakatobi, Central Sulawesi.
