REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BUSAN -- Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Yuddy Chrisnandi said Indonesia and South Korea will sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for implementing e-government for bureaucratic reforms.

"The MoU will help us implement e-government in Indonesia," he said on board the presidential plane carrying President Joko Widodo to South Korea for a working visit on Wednesday (10/12).

According to Minister Yuddy Chrisnandi, South Korea has set the best example in implementing bureaucratic reforms through e-government and is looked up to by many countries in the world.

He remarked that the cooperation will facilitate a transfer of knowledge regarding the system, how it works, and how a favorable environment can be built in line with the agenda of President Joko Widodo.

He noted the government has set a target of integrating e-government into government systems up to nine percent by early 2019.

E-government will not only be integrated into ministries and state institutions but also into regional governments across the country to ensure better public services and transparency.

Minister Yuddy Chrisnandi, who is among the ministers accompanying President Joko Widodo to South Korea, is scheduled to attend an ASEAN-South Korean ministerial level dialog in Busan.

President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) along with First Lady Iriana left Jakarta for Busan, South Korea, for a working visit until Friday.

President Jokowi and his entourage departed from Halim Perdanakusuma airport at 7 A.M. for Busan where they will attend the ASEAN-South Korea Summit and other bilateral meetings.

Besides Yuddy Chrisnandi, Coordinating Minister for Economy Sofyan Djalil and Minister for Forestry and Environment Siti Nurbaya have also accompanied the President to South Korea.
